Brief Activities:
 
  • Round the clock (24x7) operation & maintenance of 6KV, 3 MVA Indoor type Substation andDG sets including monitoring of various electrical parameters in order to initiate corrective measures accordingly to provide quality power and maintenance of desired power factor for earning power factor (PF) rebate to the maximum possible extent.
  • Day-to-Day Maintenance of all Electro-Mechanical services (viz. Internal Electrification, Air-Conditioning Systems (viz. package, VRF & Precision AC), Passenger Elevators in respect of the Centenary Bldg.
  • Operation & maintenance of EPABX cum Reception centre.
  • Providing Electrical Infrastructure (major works) for various laboratories in the Main and other Buildings inside the campus of IACS.
  • Recording electrical parameters (on 30 minutes interval) to get the health of the HV / MV distribution network i/c energy consumption & maintenance of desired power factor to earn the max. possible PF rebate from the supply company i.e. CESC Ltd through monthly electricity bills.
  • Recording Energy meter readingspertaining to the residential area andthe SBI ATM including preparation and distribution of monthly electricity bills thereon.
  • Planning, Design, Estimation & Costing i/c Preparation of Tender documents, Tender scrutiny, award of work, execution of work, recording measurements, bill certification etc..
  • Preparations of various proposals / reports / replies/ clarifications from time to time as needed.
  • Making liaison with various Government and Statutory Bodies including the supply company viz. Central Electricity Authority (CEA), West Bengal Pollution Control Board etc. along with the supply company (CESC Ltd.) also.
  • Conducting In-service training on Electrical safety, fire fighting etc. for the maintenance personnel engaged for O&M of substation & Electrical Distribution network maintenance.
  • Preparation of scientific drawing, Cover page, Cartoon, 3-D Drawings, AutoCAD etc. for the Researchers and Faculties of IACS.

 



In addition to the above activities, the following projects have been entrusted upon the Electrica
  • a) Providing Electrical Distribution Network for delivering Emergency Power pertaining to 2nos. 500 KVA and 1no. 250 KVA D.G. set with AMF panel dedicated for the Centenary bldg. & Auditoriums of IACS.
  • b) Providing necessary infrastructure towards distribution of above D.G. power.
  • c) Electrical Infrastructure Development of the Main Building of TACS, Jadavpur, Kolkata. (SH:- Replacement of Existing Old Industrial type Switchgear by LT panels with MCCB, Distribution Box by TP/SPMCBDB, IEI of corridor and some rooms, providing Aluminium Trunking in the corridor area, safety Earthing, Intelligent automatic Fire Alarm System (analogue type) i/c. providing False Ceiling in the said corridor and rooms.
  • d) Maintaining Registers, Records, Challans, making Stock Entry, Goods Received Sheet, Indent, Purchase Order, Issue Register etc. pertaining to the Electrical Goods.
