Welcome to Workshop

Workshop provides essential services to the scientists and also maintenance services in Electrical, refrigeration & Air Conditioning system in IACS.

There are five sections and a store in Workshop to cater these services.

Mechanical section

The Mechanical section is the biggest section in Workshop. All types of machining work including the critical & innovative works are taken care of by this department. All sorts of fabrication & sheet metal work of intricated design & innovative nature as well as allied machining work are carried out by this department .

Refrigeration & Air Conditioning section

The Refrigeration & Air-Conditioning section of Workshop looks after installation, maintenance & servicing of the room air-conditioners, water chillers, lypholysers for high vacuum refrigeration & low temperature refrigeration  refrigerators & maintaining the A.C. Plant of the auditorium.

Carpentry section

The carpentry section is equipped for providing services to the laboratories by making different types of laboratory requirements.

Glass Blowing section

The Glass Blowing section is equipped with manufacturing, repairing, modifications of scientific glass apparatus of different departments of IACS as well as other institutions as per their requests.

Electrical section

The Electrical section of Workshop is doing all types of electrical maintenance work as well as new installation work in the power distribution in IACS.

There is a committee for Workshop to look after the overall management and advise on policy matters and technological up gradation .

The job card is for internal use for assigning work to Workshop.
