Sealed tenders are invited for a Zeta-Potential measurement instruments with the facility of Particle Size and Molecular Weight Analyzer with suitable Software for operation through PC, spectra handling etc. and having the following specifications & Accessories: 

Tender Form: Tender should be submitted to the Registrar, IACS, Jadavpur, Kolkata-32 in plain paper or Letter Head separately in the forms of Technical and price Bids both enclosed in a single envelop. Complete Tender Bids in a sealed envelop should be reached with in 17.12.2010.  Payment should be made through Letter of Credit.  

Specifications: The single system should have the measurement facility for Zeta Potential, Nano particle size and Molecular Weight measurement at variable temperature (0˚C -90˚C) through   Peltier temperature controller. 

(a) Zeta Potential  

•         Principals: Preferably by high & Low frequency micro electrophoresis, Laser Doppler Velocimetry with Phase-analysis light scattering.

•         Size Range suitable for measurement: Min: 5nm, Max: 90 micron

•         Sample Concentration: 40% w/v

•         Zeta Potential range: with no limitation

•         Facility for zeta potential measurement in low as well as high concentration samples by using Slow Field and Fast Field Reversal.

•         Live measurement windows for display of Frequency, Voltage and Current. 

(b) Particle size analysis and Molecular weight determination

•         In aqueous and non aqueous solution phase.

•         Minimum Particle size range (dia): Less than 0.5 nm with sufficient documentary proof. 

•         Maximum Particle size range (dia): At least up to 10 micron with sufficient documentary proof

•         Measurement principle: preferably by Non Invasive Back Scattering.

•         Minimum sample required: less than 15µl.

•         Concentration range: Min 0.1mg/ml 15 kDa protein --- 40% w/v.

•         Molecular weight range : preferably in the range of 500 Da to 2 x 10⁷Dalton 

Laser                                            : He-Ne Laser

Wave Length                               : 633 nm (Visible)

Detector                                       : Avalanche Photo Diode Detector.   

(c) Application Software  

• Suitable Application software for Temperature, Time Trend Analysis
• Intensity, volume, number wise Particle Size Distribution.
• Protein characterization tool with Protein Melting point, Protein Crystal Screening,
• 2nd Viral Coefficient determination
• Display result of Zeta Potential, Mobility, Conductivity, Temp, Iso electric Point.

Any other additional features in favour of your instrument.

Technical compliance data originally signed should be included along with quotation. 

Essential accessories/items

(i) Computer [2GB RAM, 80GB Hard Disk, 17” monitor (LCD), Combo drive, Key board, optical mouse, Windows XP OS] and HP LaserJet printer and UPS (online /line interactive minimum 1KVA with 30 minutes backup time).  

(ii) Standard samples for validation of Zeta Potential, Particle size measurement.

(iii) Essential Cuvettes for the operation of the above system.  

Installation/Demonstration /Application Training at site: Free of cost by the supplier 

Warranty: Specify time period 

User list: The supplier should provide a list of current users (with contact no, Email address etc) for the quoted item and if required the bidder should also arrange the demonstration for the quoted items. 

Service facility: Supplier should mention their details of service setup and Manpower in Kolkata who are responsible for after sales support. Response time should be within 24 hours

Date of Opening: Tender will be opened on 27th December, 2010 at 1.00 pm in the JC Bose Meeting room of IACS (Updated December 20, 2010)
