Sub: “ Micromanipulation system (microinjector and micromanipulator). ”
 

Sealed tender in two bids system (Technical Bid & Price bid) is invited from bonafide, resourceful and eligible manufacturer/exclusive distributor/vendors for Micromanipulation system with the following specifications & Accessories. Part – I (Technical Bid) of the tender should contain technical details and commercial terms and conditions and Part – II (Price Bid) should indicate group-wise price as mentioned in the Technical Bid. The Technical Bid and Price Bid are to be submitted in two separately sealed envelopes distinctly marked accordingly and both to be put inside another envelope, which should be sealed and superscribed with tender reference no. and due date. Complete tender bids should reach the office of the Registrar, Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science, Jadavpur, Kolkata – 700032 on or before the scheduled date & time specified below. The bidders may submit bids duly signed in their own letterheads. 

The technical bids will be opened first to evaluate technical specifications of the equipment and there after the price bids of only the technically qualified distributor/vendors will be opened  

Last date for submission of the tender: January 04, 2012 up to 02.00 PM in the office of the Registrar, Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science, Jadavpur, Kolkata -700032 

Opening of Technical Bids: Technical Bids will be opened on January 04, 2012 at 03.00 PM at J. C. Bose Meeting Hall in the presence of intending bidders or their representatives. 

Opening of price-bid: The Price Bids of the bidders qualifying the technical bid will only be opened, the date of which will be intimated to the short-listed bidders at their email addresses. The rest of the bids will be rejected.

Please note that IACS will not provide any accommodation or expenses to any of the bidders for attending opening of technical bid/price bid. 

A). TECHNICAL BID:

Technical Bid should contain technical details and commercial terms and conditions and kept in a separate envelope duly superscribed as “Technical Bid” on the outer cover of the envelope.

Detailed Technical Specifications of "Micromanipulation system (microinjector and micromanipulator)." 

Application:

The primary application would be microinjection into small organisms such as Zebrafish & Medaka.  

System:

The system should be with the following components:

a.       Micromanipulator

1.      The manipulator should be specially designed for work with adherent cells as well as for microinjection into small organisms such as Zebra fish & Medaka.

2.      Should have integrated coarse & fine movement via joystick.

3.      Should have movement with dynamical kinetics.

4.      High speed for efficient penetration of rigid structures (Vmax 7,500 µm/s)

5.      Motor with high resolution of 40 nm per micro step, for smooth, step-free motions.

6.      The manipulator should have facility for stored work position to facilitate rapid exchange of capillaries..

7.      The unit should have large work range of approx 20 mm on each axis.

8.      Mounting: X, Y, cartesical mounting of the Z-module

9.      Range of X-head for the manipulator should be 0 -90°

10.  Axial injection by coordinated movement of X/Z axis.

11.  Separate control board to eliminate potential oscillation / vibration.

 

b.      Microinjection

1.      Combining the micromanipulator that works on adherent cells with the microinjector should ensure rapid & safe microinjection.

2.      Programmable electronic injection to ensure reproducibility

3.      Serial injection volume from 100pl to 1µl

4.      Use-friendly interface with large LCD for easy operation.

5.      Inject & Clean functions triggered via control button on instrument,

6.      Small footprint

7.      External pressure source to be quoted

8.      Injection pressure of 0.5-6.000 hPa (87 psi), should be set in increments of 1 hPa.

9.      Rinsing pressure : max. 7,000 hPa (102 psi) 

B). Price BID:

Price Bid should indicate group-wise price as mentioned in the Technical Bid and kept in a separate envelope duly superscribed as “Price Bid” on the outer cover of the envelope. 

C) GENERAL INSTURCTIONS:

1.            Incomplete & conditional tenders and tenders received after the due date will be summarily rejected without assigning any reasons thereof.

2.            At any time prior to the bid due date, IACS may, for any reason, whether at its own initiative or in response to a clarification requested by a prospective bidder during pre-bid meeting, modify the bidding documents.  The amendment(s) will be notified on the Institute website.  Prospective bidders are advised to occasionally visit the website for any amendment.

3.            Payment: 100% against delivery and successful installation

4.            Warranty:  Minimum 1 year Warranty

5.            Installation/Demonstration/Application Training at site: Free of cost by the supplier

6.            Service facility: Supplier should mention their details of service setup and Manpower in Kolkata who are responsible for after sales support. Response time should be within 24 hours

7.            Validity of tender: Tender submitted shall remain valid at least for four months from the date of opening the tender. Validity beyond four months from the date of opening of the tender shall be by mutual consent.

8.            The tender should accompany a compliance chart.

9.            The rate should be inclusive of all taxes, transportation etc. Nothing extra will be paid in addition to the quoted rate.

10.        The model number, make, and a printed literature of the product shall submit positively.

11.        Proposed delivery schedule should be mentioned clearly.

12.        Manufacturers/exclusive distributors/vendors should have history of supplying this type of instrument to this or other Scientific Organizations.

13.        Authorized Dealership Certificate is must in case of principal manufacturing company is not quoting directly.

14.        Guarantee certificate, users manuals etc. are to be handed over to the user after successful commissioning of the system.

15.        In the event of date being declared a closed holiday for purchaser’s office, the due date for submission of bids and opening of technical bids will be the following working day at the appointed time.
