The present thrust of our research is to investigate the radiation-damage following exposure of ultraviolet light, and light-driven conformational transformations of biomolecules using time-resolved infrared spectroscopy. The other research which our group has actively pursed is electronic spectroscopy of isolated molecules and weakly-bound molecular complexes in cold supersonic jet expansion. Our interest here is to understand the role of weak molecular interaction, like hydrogen bonding, on energy flow dynamics relevant to chemical events.
