Our research is focused on the development of simple and modular synthetic strategies to prepare organic molecules which can perform specific or multiple tasks. We aim at developing new or improved synthetic methods using transition metal catalysis, microwave heating and combinatorial chemistry in the presence of a target to obtain new classes of chemical probes. We then use an integrated multi-disciplinary approach to identify these molecular probes which can mimic an enzyme to catalyze a reaction, selectively detect and interact with nucleic acid sequences or self-assemble to form complex nano-architecture.
