Theoretical
and Experimental papers are invited from young physicists (below 35 years of
age on June 30, 2010) in India, working on their own or in groups, for consideration
of presentation at the 28th IPS COLLOQUIUM FOR YOUNG PHYSICISTS (YPC-2010) to
be organised by the INDIAN PHYSICAL
SOCIETY.
Only those papers will be considered which are based on research work
mainly carried out in India. A Selection Committee will review these and select
about 20 papers for oral presentation at the Colloquium to be held during August
19-20, 2010.
The Society will arrange for local accommodation and travel allowance
for the outstation young physicists so selected.
Presentation, to be made by a young physicist, will be in the form of
a 30-minute talk (including 5 minutes for the question-answer session) reviewing
the appropriate field of research and highlighting the participant's own contribution
in fundamental and applied areas.
A Board of Judges will adjudicate the best four presentations and these
will be suitably rewarded. Best awarded papers and a few selected ones will
be published in 'Physics Teacher' - a quarterly journal of the Society.
