9-th IACS APCTP Joint Activity on Novel Quantum Phases in Oxide Materials and Low Dimensional Systems
27th - 29th November, 2017
Novel oxide materials and low dimensional systems have attracted major interest in condensed matter research because of their wide ranging physical properties and emergent phenomena that are not only important for basic research but also for various applications. The major purpose of this conference is to present and discuss about cutting-edge theoretical and experimental works on some of these systems that includes spin-orbit induced emergent phenomena in oxide materials, multiferroics, graphene and other 2D systems, topological insulators, novel superconductors, etc. The main purpose of the present Activity will be to discuss about recent progress in theory and experiment to understand these novel systems. The conference will also have special talks by leading experimentalists from the Asia Pacific region working in the area mentioned above.
